There’s no other golf community in Bradenton, Florida, that can compare with the Waterlefe Golf and River Club. In addition to weaving its golf links perfectly into a residential community, the Waterlefe complex was developed in perfect harmony with the pristine Manatee River adjacent to it.
Its outstanding amenities and nature preserve views can be best enjoyed in two separate facilities: the Waterlefe Golf Clubhouse and the Waterlefe River Club. For socials and dining, the place to be is the River Club situated in a rise overlooking the Manatee River. The colonial architectural design of this clubhouse is most striking for its spacious terraces. Three gazebos and a tiki bar grace its verdant grounds, along with a look-out tower that adds to the riverside ambience. Arrangements for special events, such as luncheon meetings, receptions, and weddings can be made at this Waterlefe facility.
This clubhouse boasts of an elegant main dining room with its superb appointments complemented by a delightful menu of delectable dishes prepared by culinary experts. A private dining area and The Pointe, an area reserved for family occasions, are likewise accessible. In addition, the River Club has a crystal-clear saline swimming pool, measuring more than 2,400 square feet. It also houses a fitness center fully-equipped with some 20 pieces of modern exercise equipment. Fitness programs, such as personalized training, yoga, mat Pilates, and water aerobics are offered to members and guests.
Casual dining is offered at the Grille Room of the Waterlefe golf clubhouse near the course’s first tee and the practice range. Administrative assistance and such matters as arrangements for tee times and golf instruction, golf outings, and membership inquiries are entertained in this clubhouse. Corporate and charity golf outings can be arranged for up to 144 players, events that can be efficiently organized by an experienced club staff.
A semi-private club, Waterlefe membership packages are reasonably priced, and membership fees are at par with the other clubs in the area. The club doesn’t charge an initiation fee as part of a recent marketing promotion campaign. Club membership isn’t required for property owners to access golf playing privileges.
Waterlefe Golf Course
The Waterlefe golf course provides memorable rounds with its unique riverside setting. Designed by the famed course architect Ted McAnlis, the layout took a great amount of effort, time, and expense to develop in order to protect and, where it is necessary, restore the pristine natural environment of the Manatee River shared by the greens and fairways of Waterlefe.
Both beauty and challenge is presented in this 18-hole par 72 golf course. It provides five tee sets with different course and slope ratings and yardages for golfers to choose the one which matches their skill levels. The shortest play is at the Otter tees measuring 4,700 yards, with a course rating of 68.7 and a slope rating at 116. Tour is at its longest in the Bobcat that measures 6,908 yards and sports a course rating of 73.8 and slope rating of 141.
Many US Open qualifying tournaments have been held at the Waterlefe course, attesting to its fine golf playing conditions. On a similar vein, Golf Digest magazine has given this layout a four-and-a-half star rating based on the publication’s five-star standard. Golf at Waterlefe is further enhanced by a well-stocked pro shop and excellent practice facilities including a unique aqua driving range and expansive putting greens.
Waterlefe Homes for Sale
The residential community at Waterlefe consists of 621 residences of varying styles and designs, such as condos, townhouses, and estate homes. Water-based leisure activities are enhanced by the fourteen congregate docks and fifty-nine marina slips in the community’s riverfront. Residents in the neighborhoods enjoy refreshing views of wetland preserves and leisurely strolls on quaint wooden bridges.
Price points in the sales listings of homes for sale in Waterlefe can start around the $180s for a condominium unit with some 1,150 square feet of floor space. Posh choices of estate homes at more than $1 million and floor areas at around 5,000 square feet are also available.
The selection of homes currently offered in the real estate market can be extensive as indeed seen in the residences offered for sale at Waterlefe.
