This “West of the Trail” neighborhood is located on the Intracoastal Waterway directly east of Siesta Key on the mainland shore of Sarasota Florida. It is north of Stickney Point Road which is the southern entrance to Siesta Key, and south of Phillippi Creek and The Landings subdivision. Many of the homes in this community are on the waterfront though the bulk of the residences are located on interior lots.
The location of Aqualane Estates is certainly ideal, bordering the west side of Tamiami Trail (US-41) residents of this community enjoy convenient access to Sarasota’s finest shopping opportunities and a 5 minute drive to the beaches of Siesta Key.
Many of the homes in the community were built in the 1960’s but many have been completely remodeled or leveled to make way for more modern designs. Prices for homes in this community range from $600,000 to over $4 million.
Boaters will certainly enjoy this deep water community, there is unobstructed access to the bay and the draw bridges on the causeways leading to Siesta Key open every 20 minutes. As Aqualane is a protected waterfront community (Siesta Key lies between the harsh swells of the Gulf of Mexico and Roberts Bay to the west) many of the homes here harbor some very impressive fishing and sailing vessels.
Entrance into Aqualane Estates can be gained by either the south Hollywood Blvd extension or Southwood Street, both are one block from each other and intersect US-41 just south of the Hollywood/Constitution intersection of US-41.
