Pelican Pointe Golf Courses
The golf course centerpiece to the community is a 27-hole championship layout perennially acclaimed as the best there is in Venice. Efficient grounds maintenance and the outstanding design by a course architect par excellence, Ted McAnlis, enable Pelican Pointe to remain a byword among Florida golfers. The course consists of three playing options, all of which provide consistent playing standards. There are no parallel fairways to distract the flights of golfers using the course at the same time. This set-up helps ensure privacy and complete player focus oftentimes critical to the game.
Options for 18 holes of play are available at the Meadows and the Preserve nines which were inaugurated in 1995. The newest course is the Hatchet, another 9-hole layout, which opened in 2002. Course length from various tee locations offer varying yardages suited to player skill levels. These measurements range from the newbie-friendly 5,326 yards to the more challenging 7,182 yards. Course ratings vary as well at 66.9 to 74.5, based on USGA standards.
Club practice facilities are as excellent, consisting of twenty-five turf grass hitting stations, an 8,000 square-feet putting green, and separate chipping and pitching green. An in-house staff of PGA and LPGA trained personnel are available for golf clinics and individual lessons.
Golf membership at this country club has an initiation fee that starts at $2,500, courtesy of a new gateway membership plan. While Pelican Pointe is still a semi-private club, it has initiated a membership process to eventually convert itself into a private-member club. Social membership is automatically provided to the property owners of the golf community. This will entitle them to access clubhouse facilities including the tennis courts, fitness center, and pool, in addition to dining and social privileges.
Pelican Pointe Real Estate
Consistent recognition has likewise been extended to Pelican Pointe as the leading residential golf community in Venice. This gated enclave consists of several neighborhoods: Pointe 1 and 2, the Arbors, the Links, and the Villas. An array of ponds and wetlands, and well-designed landscaping provide a refreshing ambiance to the community. Eye-pleasing water views are afforded at most of the residences within its five neighborhoods.
All these scenic community areas are efficiently maintained through a master homeowners’ association that also handles security, protection of ponds and wetlands, and set standards for landscaping and architecture. A total of 1,355 maintenance free villas and home sites comprise the community. Two of the best Florida home builders—Sam Rodgers and Arthur Rutenberg—were behind the construction of the residences. Styles and designs vary as well as price range for homes on sale.
A low-end option in a villa with a floor area of about 1,165 square feet can be price-listed in the $170s level. A larger choice for a single-family home with a floor space of around 2,800 square feet can have a price tag in the $700s. If the focus of a property acquisition is for a well-established, well-recognized, and well-located golf community then surely Pelican Pointe fits the bill.
