While dining here you will enjoy a panoramic vista of the Gulf of Mexico. Its specialty includes fresh seafood and exquisite cuisine plus a wide selection of imported and local wines as well as homemade desserts. For poolside dining and tropical cocktails, an ideal choice would be Barefoot’s Bar & Grille which also features live, laid-back music.
In addition to its swimming pool, the club has a private beach where members are provided with complimentary cabanas, umbrellas, and towels. Additional privileges are offered at a modern Fitness Center fully equipped with exercise machines and staffed with professional trainers. The resort also has a 9,000-square foot Island House Spa with twelve treatment rooms. In addition to therapeutic services, signature beauty products are available in this wellness facility.
Club members have also access to twenty Har-Tru courts in the resort’s Tennis Gardens which was cited as an outstanding facility in 2009 by the US Tennis Association. This facility comes complete with its own clubhouse, a pro shop, and locker and activity room. Along with USTPA-accredited instructors, the club has tennis hosts to arrange matches among members with the same playing levels.
Longboat Key Club Golf Courses
Golfing privileges are generously extended in two courses that provide options from a total of forty-five holes in a pristine tropical setting. One layout is the Harbourside with a unique 27-hole design by William Byrd which was renovated in 2005 by another well-known course architect Ron Garl at a cost of $2-million. The renovation principally involved Harbourside’s 3,386-yard Blue course (now called Blue Heron). The Red and White courses complete the three Harbourside layouts, offering play of 3,323 yards and 3,426 yards, respectively.
The Islandside is the club’s second golf course with its 6,792 yards played in fairways that border the Gulf of Mexico, thereby presenting water hazards throughout its 18 holes. It is considered as among the most spectacular courses in Florida and features fast greens with the smooth putting surfaces provided by Tifdwarf grass. Pro instructors are available at the resort for full-day or half-day golf lessons.
A full membership is needed for unlimited access to these golf courses. Full members can also use the tennis facilities, the spa and fitness center, plus access to dining and club social amenities. A tennis membership provides unlimited use of the Tennis Gardens plus access to fitness, dining, and social amenities as well as golf at certain fixed schedules and rates. Social members are privileged with use of dining and social amenities, plus access to the fitness and spa facilities, with golf and tennis privileges given under set schedules and rates.
Longboat Key Club Real Estate for Sale
Longboat Key Club real estate for sale includes a selection of maintenance-free villas, luxurious single family homes, and residences at several condominiums. A choice for a Longboat Key Club condo residence with a modest-sized 1,400-square-foot floor plan can be priced at around the $400,000 level. A mid-sized condo unit with a floor area of 1,600 square feet can carry a price near the $510,000 range.
For a higher-end condo residence, one having a floor plan of 3,139 square feet can be price- listed at $2.5 million. Roughly in the same price level are single family homes with a floor areas averaging of 5,000 square feet.
