It would be wise for prospective buyers of golf community homes for sale in Sarasota, Florida, to consider purchase options at the Bent Tree Country Club. This master-planned real estate development provides more than the alluring country club style revolving around a master-planned golf course. Situated just about two miles east of Interstate 75, this golf community is close to the best activities and venues found on the west coast of Florida.
In spite of this proximity to the best Sarasota has to offer, the country club can nevertheless provide a quiet retreat within its enclave wherein an extensive renovation was completed in the summer of 2010. It has an updated clubhouse with an expansive view of unspoiled woodlands, lakes, and streams. Amid this tranquil environment of the community center, lunch and casual dining opportunities are offered daily at its Grille Room and no reservations are needed. However, on special occasions, like fine dining and pizza/pasta themed nights, tables will need to be reserved.
Besides the elegant dining facilities, the clubhouse also has wide screen TV sets, tennis courts, a swimming pool, and a kiddies’ wading pool. It is also an ideal venue for social gatherings, like banquets and weddings because of beautiful indoor and outdoor settings. Its dining facilities are spacious and can comfortably accommodate up to 250 persons.
Friendliest Sarasota Country Club
Bent Tree, regarded as among the friendliest and laid-back country clubs in Sarasota, is managed by Pope Golf. This firm specializes in running club resorts, and private, high-end, daily-fee clubs in the area. Other courses under its wings include the Sarasota Golf Club and the Jones Creek Golf Course in Jackson TN.
There are several club membership categories at the Bent Tree Country Club. One is Equity Golf which has an initial $5,000 equity fee and monthly dues of $530 for single and $640 for family membership coverage. Another is Associate Golf with a $1,200 initiation fee and monthly dues of $146 for single and $275 for family. There is also an Intermediate Golf membership package for those between twenty-one and fifty years old, with monthly dues of $260 for single and $375 for family. There’s a $300 application fee for these membership categories, but none for social membership which has a monthly fee of $25 and $450 in annual minimum food and beverage consumption. In addition, there is also a winter golf membership schedule at one to six-month options which vary in price from $1,000 for one month for a single membership and $4,740 for 6 months for a family membership.
Bent Tree Golf Course
Bent Tree boasts of one of the most revered golf courses in Sarasota with its links maintaining superb playing conditions since it opened in 1975. It was originally designed by the legendary course architect Bill Lewis, and another famed designer, Ward Northrup, took charge of redesigning the layout’s greens in 1994.
The 18-hole, par 72 course can pose an exacting challenge but, at the same time, be forgiving to tyro golfers. Designed with five sets of tees, play goes up to 6,863 yards at its tips and to 5,465 yards at the nearest markers. A tour here has to tackle of 72.9 course rating and a 139 slope rating on Bermuda grass. Golfers’ skills are tested mostly at the layout’s back nine which presents Bent Tree’s two signature holes: the 12th and the 18th. This layout has hosted many major US tournaments, including some memorable LPGA championships.
Bent Tree Country Club Real Estate
The Bent Tree Country Club real estate was developed along with the golf course in the 1970s. Subsequent home developments were also undertaken during the 1980s up to the 1990s up to the last decade. In developing both the residential community and the golf course, all efforts were exerted to preserve and enhance the natural environment of woodlands, streams, and lakes within the Bent Tree real estate development.
This golf community provides many options for spacious and well-built homes within large lots. Compared to other similar communities in the area, the choices here can be more affordable primarily due to their age, not the lack of Country Club amenities. Bent Tree homes for sale having floor areas of around 2,000 square feet can be priced from the $140s up to the low $200s. The higher end Bent Tree Real Estate, asking prices can be topped by offerings in the high $700s for sprawling estates with more than 3,500 square feet of floor space and the spectacular lake and golf course views that have made Bent Tree a perennial favorite in the Florida real estate market.
Bent Tree is located across the street and directly south from the Laurel Oak Country Club. Many residents of Bent Tree are also members of Laurel Oak. If you are looking for newer residences, Laurel Oak real estate may be a good fit.
